A little about My self.

Before anything, I would like to thank you for stopping by to read my profile blog and without wasting time, let’s dive into it and get to know me. My name is Karim but my close friends call me G mainly because I’m the Guru, haha! I have a small big family which I love so much and before you get confused, I mean that my mother gave birth to only me and my elder brother but my extended family is way too huge and I love everything about that: more cousins, more drama if you know what I mean *wink*.

Well, I was born in the 90s and I’m currently living in the 21st century. Yes, I’m in my mid-twenties living by the day and still trying to figure out what to do with my life. Oh no! Don’t get me wrong, I know what I want to do with my life. It’s just that I did not expect adulting to be this complicated but you know what? Life is complicated so how about we figure this out together?

I was born and raised in Mombasa, Kenya and I must say I’m in love with the island life. From the sunny weather to the sandy beaches, everything is tropical heaven for me and don’t even get me started on how beautiful palm trees are. If trees were a community then palm trees would definitely be the supermodels. YES! I’m obsessed but who doesn’t love the beach life? Both my grandfathers were born in Malindi and they moved to Mombasa to build their dreams. They ended up creating an impact in the society making them my role models. My maternal grandfather is still alive and he gives me inspiration every single day; a living legend.

I love going to new places, experiencing new cultures, taking amazing photos, breathing some new fresh air… Oh! Wait a minute, did I just describe travelling? Yeah, you guessed right. I’m in love with travelling and I can’t wait to share all my amazing experiences with you but first, you should know that I am also a fan of the two Fs: Food and Fashion. They both represent sensation, passion, creativity and presentation. You know that saying ‘you are what you eat’? Some people argue that it should be ‘you are what you wear’ but I’m not here to settle that. I believe I have a creative mind and that’s why I’m a fan of both food and fashion.

And before I forget, let me mention how I also love my amazing friends. Guys, my biggest survival technique is my friendships. My friends have helped me conquer life in so many ways and I can’t be thankful enough. I appreciate all you real ones out there (wanajijua) Hehe!

I currently live in Nairobi and even after 5 years of living here I am still trying to figure out this city life, maybe I need someone to tutor me and give me tips on how to survive Kenya’s capital. I moved here when I joined university back in 2013 and it has been a remarkable experience.I have a degree in journalism (broadcast media) which I really enjoyed doing. I worked as a TV producer before I recently decided to leave that job because of so many reasons. Not that I didn’t like being a producer, I did! It is just that I had to take a minute and decide what I really want. I know.. it sounds messed up right? They say we millennials are messed up but I would argue that we are more passion driven. This is the generation that has decided to do what they love and make careers out of it.

Anyway, now I’m here starting a new journey and I can sense that it’s going to be a great one. Ladies and gentlemen, this is my blog. I am going to take this platform to share with you what I love doing based on what I have mentioned (travel, photography, food and fashion). I am so excited to bring you along on this journey with me and I hope you guys will enjoy my content. Stay tuned for some adventure and fun.
